Some people like good and some people prefer silver. Well, why not both?
Madison Ashley is here to help you with your dilemma. You don’t have to choose between gold and silver because wearing both is fabulously fine! The old saying that you’re not supposed to mix your metals is no longer true. You just have to know how to mix and match your silver accessories with your gold items!
Feeling uncertain? Don’t worry! We've got you! We are here to give you helpful tips on how to wear gold with silver.
Match it with your outfit!
Decide on what you want to wear. The accessories you’ll choose later on will depend on the tones and the style or cut of your clothing. If you’re wearing a deep neckline, you can choose to layer long and short necklaces. If you’re wearing a T-shirt, you can definitely layer on some bracelets and bangles.
Select your accent zone.
When we say select your accent zone, we mean choosing which body part you want to highlight. It can be so much fun layering your accessories and you can get carried away but overdoing it is definitely a no-no. Decide on whether you want to highlight your neck, your wrist, or your ears. If you’re feeling like you want to stack up your bangles for the day, consider going minimalist on your necklace and earrings.
Choose a theme
Choosing a theme helps frame the vibe that you’re going for and it gives you a more cohesive look.
If you’re reading this then you probably have a good number of accessories you want to layer. If you’re a collector of jewelry, then you most likely have a variety of designs, colors, shapes and sizes. Before you go crazy with throwing them on, choose a theme that goes with your outfit.
For example, if you want an ocean-inspired look and you have items from our various collections, you can skip the zodiacs and the hearts for the day. Stick to the waves and layer it with the sea creatures because all these items fall under the same theme which is ocean love!
Compliment your pieces
When combining gold and silver necklaces, you can use one statement piece and complement it with other simpler gold or silver chained-necklaces of varying lengths. Don’t choose pieces that take away attention from each other. You don’t want your items to fight over the eye’s attention, you want them to look cohesive and compliment each other.
Balance out your accessories by spreading them out, especially for bracelets and rings. Spread out your rings and bracelets or bangles so that one piece is not overpowering the other. If you’re wearing a silver watch then a few gold bracelets will best balance it out. If you’re wearing a gold ring, wearing silver rings on your other fingers or beside your gold ring will balance out the look too. You can also try alternating your gold and silver bangles and rings to keep your accessories from appearing like you just ran out of gold or silver pieces.
Confidence is always key! Allow your accessories to showcase your personality because after perfectly mixing and matching your accessories, you have to feel good and be confident about your creation for you to stand out and shine!
